So my photography got me at least $200 this weekend. I entered the Monterey County Weston Scholarship on Friday and Gina Weston herself called me this evening to tell me I had won.

I'm not sure what I have won--there are prizes for 1st-3rd places and then however many honorable mentions they see fit. I'm just going to assume I got an honorable mention--I won't know until the ceremony on May 22--but it's nice to know my photography is comptent.

I feel like I'm good at what I do in the arts. It's so completely gratifying to feel competent. I feel like everything is coming together for me as I prepare to graduate and move up north in the fall.

Maybe that's the way it should be. I'm not at all looking forward to going to college. Socially. But at least I can leave feeling competent in all the things I can throw myself into if I don't make friends xD
